World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
One of our major events is: the WORLD ELDER ABUSE
AWARENESS DAY (WEAAD) on the 15th June.

WEAAD is an initiative of the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA). The first WEAAD was held on 15th June 2006.
This is not a day of celebration, but rather one on which victims of elder abuse, worldwide, are acknowledged and awareness is raised around the issue. Awareness is a form of prevention, which is why communities around the world are encouraged to hold events that focus on this.
Information on WEAAD can be obtained from the INPEA website www.inpea.net or from AEASA.
The HEAL WHITE SOCK DAY is also observed on the 15th June each year. The picture below was taken on the HEAL WHITE SOCK DAY.
